AI Analysis

The email confirms the approval of a service request to remove EC2 email sending limits and provides guidance on best practices for email configuration. No immediate action is required as the main request has been fulfilled.

Hello,

We approved your request for the removal of the EC2 email sending limitations on your Amazon Web Services account for the following regions us-east-2! If you requested removal of email sending limits on any other Amazon Elastic IPs, they've also been removed.

Because reverse DNS record entries are commonly considered in anti-spam filters, we recommend assigning a reverse DNS record to the Elastic IP address you use to send email to third parties. Please use the form located at this link to request a reverse DNS entry:
https://aws-portal.amazon.com/gp/aws/html-forms-controller/contactus/ec2-email-limit-rdns-request

If you'd like to proceed with assigning a reverse DNS record to the Elastic IP, the first step would be to configure the A record for the domain to match the desired PTR record on your side.

Please follow the instructions at the link below to create the A record:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/DeveloperGuide/resource-record-sets-creating.html

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,
AWS Trust & Safety

The details of your request are captured below:

-------------------------------------- Request Information ---------------------------------------
Use Case: |-
    Use case:
I am setting up a self-hosted email server for my business domain,
woodmantech.com, to replace a hosted provider. This EC2 Elastic IP
(3.22.105.15) serves as the public-facing egress for a mail server
(Postfix/Dovecot via Docker Mailserver) running at my office on a
Proxmox host, connected to this instance over a WireGuard VPN
tunnel. Outbound email is normal business correspondence — low to
moderate volume, well under 1,000 messages per day.

    Anti-abuse measures:
    - DKIM signing via OpenDKIM, plus SPF and DMARC records already
      published for woodmantech.com
    - Reverse DNS for 3.22.105.15 is already set to mail.woodmantech.com
    - Rspamd outbound filtering and ClamAV virus scanning on every
      message
    - SMTP authentication required on submission ports (587/465); no
      open relay
    - Fail2ban on authentication endpoints
    - Logs monitored for bounces, complaints, and unusual volume
    - Only authenticated users on my own domain can send

I will comply with the AWS Acceptable Use Policy and will act
promptly on any abuse reports sent to abuse@woodmantech.com.
